Drs Desk has been created by the Primary Care Informatics group of the Department of Community Health Sciences at St George's Hospital Medical School, London.

The site was originally part of a R & D project to look at the utility of the sources of evidence based medicine on the consulting room desk. Details of the original project are published in the Journal of Informatics in Primary Care. The appearance of Drs Desk has developed considerably since its original appearance.
